I can still remember my first hunting experience with my father. Those memories and experiences are instilled in me forever. At 46 years old now so much has changed over the years but my love for hunting and being in the outdoors has never. I trapped from a young age and starting hunting as soon as I was old enough to carry a gun. I always hunted with a gun till I started bow hunting 15 years ago. A good friend got me into bow hunting and I have never looked back. For me that is where my passion is. I love to bow hunt. There is nothing more rewarding and more satisfying to me than to harvest a animal with your bow. Elk hunting is my passion. To hunt them on the ground and outsmart them is so rewarding as a bow hunter. I have taken many animals with my bow over the years. It’s not so much the size of the horns as it is to fill the freezer and provide for your family. I like the simple things in life even though our lives are so fast and so materialistic any more. I could get dropped off somewhere in the mountains and just live off the land like we used to as kids. That to me is so satisfying. One thing about hunting to me is to respect the animal your are hunting. If you cannot make a ethical kill shot don’t take it. I have got into 3-d archery now and what a great sport and great preparation for what I love to do each fall. I thank God each day for the strength and the vision to continue to do each fall what I love to do.
Philippians 4:13
I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
